If you’ve ever bought a fixer-upper, you know that it takes some real effort to restore it! Thankfully, your body is very different from a 100 year old home or a vintage car. When you are feeling run down from the chronic stress in which we live these days, it is not more effort that your body is yearning for, but LESS!
The Feldenkrais Method is a beautiful process that invites you into sensory exploration and quality connection with yourself. Through gentle movement processes, you become aware of your habits and the unique ways of how you do stress. These Awareness Through Movement lessons evoke the intelligent capacities within yourself of finding new ways of being, doing, thinking so that you can find your way back to balance, equilibrium and restoration! None of us has been untouched by 2020, and although our bodies may feel vintage, perhaps we are simply waiting for the conditions of restoration to arrive.

For 14 consecutive days begin or end your day with a 30-45 min Awareness Through Movement Lesson in the comfort of your own home. Classes are live and a link to the recordings are sent out following each class for you to explore again in the evening.
We will do Awareness Through Movement lessons, self-care exercises to regulate your vagal nerve system, and lessons with soft exercise balls to regulate the fascial system. On Saturday’s we will spend time in community learning from each other how these practices are integrating into our daily routines.
Habits of movement are developed over a life time and under immense stress older, less efficient habit reemerge. To make sustainable change, our nervous system needs consistent exposure to new sensations, new ideas and new options. Participating in a consistent, regular, slow exploration of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons is an excellent way to experience the truly transformational potential this method has to create major changes in our selves, our thinking, our moving and our wellbeing.
We will need a minimum of 10 participants to hold this series of classes.

You will need access to wifi so you can access ZOOM. This can be on any electronic device. A place to lie down on the floor. We will be using some soft exercise balls with some of the lessons. When choosing a ball, the size should be between 6 and 9 inches. The smaller your frame, likely, you will appreciate a smaller ball. You will be putting your body weight onto the ball so you want to be sure it has some strength to it while also being pliable and having a grippy, stretchy surface texture. In the double ball set each ball is rated to support up to 220 lbs.
