LEARNING TO LEARN?
A good teacher knows how to create the conditions for you to learn what has been a mystery to understand. A good teacher does not rush, pressure, assume or belittle. A good teacher invites curiosity, play and the joy of making mistakes. What if you could be your own best teacher?
The act of learning is endemic to your situation as a human being. Sometimes, however, the aperture of discovery and novelty contracts through unconscious overuse of habits. We forget how to stimulate experiences that wake us up from the routine of our day to day lives. We forget WE are our ultimate resource for learning, improving and enjoying our life.
You are a dynamic system, functioning in a dynamic system. How do you learn to calibrate and elevate yourself?
Every Feldenkrais lesson is an invitation to learn and in this year’s 15 Day Feldenkrais Challenge we will be exploring how we organize around our center. Everyone has asymmetries, but the more symmetrical we can organize around our center the better and better we function in this crazy world.
We want to impart to you ways to become your own best teacher. Pleasurable problem solving, curiosity, cognitive enrichment and movement optimization are all accessible skills that you can resource directly through YOU!
Join Kelly and Liz this January and create the conditions of learning to become your own teacher and improve the quality of your life.
IMAGINE relying on your own mind and body to figure out the best way to approach any situation. Knowing how to engage strategies that free you from ruts in thinking, movement and action.
For 15 consecutive weekdays begin or end your day with a 30-45 min Awareness Through Movement Class in the comfort of your own home. Classes are live each morning and recordings are sent out following each class for you to explore again in the evening.
Habits of movement are developed over a life time and under stress older, less efficient habits reemerge. To make sustainable change, our nervous system needs consistent exposure to new sensations, new ideas and new options. Participating in an intensive, regular exploration of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons is an excellent way to experience the truly transformational potential this method has to create major changes in our selves, our thinking, our moving and our wellbeing.
We will need a minimum of 10 participants to hold this series of classes.

What do people say about the 15 days?
“I went into this thinking I would learn a thing or two, but never thought I would begin to really listen to my body and notice [the] habits causing [my] pain.… But, I did! I went skiing today and noticed how I move – I’ve never done that before! I noticed how stiff one side of my body is and [now I] know [how to] begin to work on making that [better] and moving with more ease. I want to continue to focus on how….to move into a more satisfying way of being…. I looked forward to the new exploration [each day]…. And, how such a small ‘project’ can have a big impact.”
Lydia, 66, saddled with a bum knee for the past 25 years
“The most impactful thing for me is that I am beginning to learn to stay in the curiosity…. As a recovering perfectionist, I’m trying not to have dualistic thinking……To realize that every part of me is just fine, and when I embrace that…..I move with greater ease. The [15 Day Challenge] also helped me increase my awareness of my breath, jaw, throat, and eyes. I used to always blame my back or shoulder for tightening, but I’ve come to realize [I have] other spots that hold onto rigidity. Especially my throat, which surprised me. Thanks for a great challenge! My nervous system thanks you!”
Kim , 61, healing from being diagnosed with MS more than 20 years ago
“Almost from the start, I noticed my body felt more ‘awake’ and alive following the lesson. I have more energy all day long.”
“I have participated in weekly, as well as, private lessons and have found… [this challenge] provided the opportunity for more insightful daily study. It was more akin to reading a novel rather than a short story.”
CV, age 67, 7-year Feldenkrais student
“This [15 Day Challenge] taught me to think differently, to consider other ways of viewing my body and, to a broader extent, the world!” Andee, age 66, 2021 participant
