Moshe Feldenkrais’ definition of health, is our ability to live out our dreams, to be potent actors in our fully lived life! It takes a kind of internal strength to live into your avowed and unavowed dreams. Who do you want to become? What is your gift to the world?

Authentic strength is not the same thing as brute force or toned abs. It’s possible to lift heavy weights and still have brittle tissues and a confused nervous system. It’s possible to be “ripped” but lack coordination and flexibility. It’s also possible to efficiently respond to any situation with a vibrant mind and an intelligent body.

Moving our weight through the world as well as moving the weight of objects we come across requires stability, responsiveness, good organization and a little joie de vivre!

  • We do need to be able to engage our musculature but how much is really necessary for a given task?
  • Do we trust that we will naturally and with healthy coordination employ enough tone but not too much?
  • Or do we find that we brace and over prepare for different actions?
  • How much is enough?
  • What makes us feel strong and in turn how do we define ourselves when we feel “weak”?
  • How do the stories we tell about ourselves impact our sense of strength?

IMAGINE the capacity to adapt to challenges with ease…..Starting or ending each day with a sense of internal strength.

For 15 consecutive weekdays begin or end your day with a 30-45 min Awareness Through Movement Class in the comfort of your own home. Classes are live each morning and recordings are sent out following each class for you to explore again in the evening.

Habits of movement are developed over a life time and under immense stress older, less efficient habit reemerge.  To make sustainable change, our nervous system needs consistent exposure to new sensations, new ideas and new options. Participating in an intensive, regular exploration of Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lessons is an excellent way to experience the truly transformational potential this method has to create major changes in our selves, our thinking, our moving and our wellbeing.

We will need a minimum of 10 participants to hold this series of classes.

Create the Habit of Recognizing the Strength within YOU!

“I went into this thinking I would learn a thing or two, but never thought I would begin to really listen to my body and notice [the] habits causing [my] pain.…  But, I did! I went skiing today and noticed how I move – I’ve never done that before! I noticed how stiff one side of my body is and [now I] know [how to] begin to work on making that [better] and moving with more ease.  I want to continue to focus on how….to move into a more satisfying way of being…. I looked forward to the new exploration [each day]…. And, how such a small ‘project’ can have a big impact.”

Lydia, 66, saddled with a bum knee for the past 25 years

“The most impactful thing for me is that I am beginning to learn to stay in the curiosity…. As a recovering perfectionist, I’m trying not to have dualistic thinking……To realize that every part of me is just fine, and when I embrace that…..I move with greater ease. The [15 Day Challenge] also helped me increase my awareness of my breath, jaw, throat, and eyes. I used to always blame my back or shoulder for tightening, but I’ve come to realize [I have] other spots that hold onto rigidity. Especially my throat, which surprised me. Thanks for a great challenge! My nervous system thanks you!”

“Almost from the start, I noticed my body felt more ‘awake’ and alive following the lesson. I have more energy all day long.”

“I have participated in weekly, as well as, private lessons and have found… [this challenge] provided the opportunity for more insightful daily study. It was more akin to reading a novel rather than a short story.”
