Gait for Wild Human Potential

First Weekend in NOV 2019

At the heart of the human experience, the “how” of walking shapes physical comfort, security, emotional well-being and happiness, regardless of medical diagnosis. This course advances beyond the traditional study of characteristics found in the stance and swing phases of gait.

Informed by the methodologies of Feldenkrais, Movement Intelligence (Bones for Life and Walk for Life) and traditional physical therapy, the instructors will guide participants in an exploration to discover:

  • The relationship of pressure and alignment: Ground Reaction Forces
  • How to organize the head, shoulders and pelvis in rotation/counter rotation movement patterns
  • The key role that rib mobility has for healthy, happy joints
  • The potency and power of the abdominal muscles’ capacity for uprightness

Registeration Begins JUNE 2019

Do you walk? run? move?

Then this workshop is for you.

Have you ever wondered why you keep getting the same running injuries over and over?

Have you ever wished you felt more confident in your stride and the way you walk into a room?

Have you ever wished you could sustain better posture?

Have you ever wished that walking or running was more enjoyable?

When you become aware of some of your habits of moving and breathing, you can change them! By moving slowly, with awareness, you will discover some of the unconscious habitual aspects of your gait that are inefficient and effortful. Through a carefully guided process you can learn new options, new patterns of coordination, new degrees of freedom to walk with the full human potential that is in you.

Immersing yourself in a weekend of sensorial exploration can have a profound impact on your habits, your sense or yourself and who you are and what you can accomplish in the world. It can change your mood, your outlook, your dreams. Come experience a personal appreciation of how a vibrant gait contributes to your well-being.

This course will have a blend of movement lessons and lecture. For more details about the course CLICK HERE
